For medium-sized gardens, a 4 kg bag of diverse seed mix represents an ideal selection for maintaining a consistent and reliable winter bird feeding station. This specialized food blend has been formulated to address the nutritional requirements of various garden and forest birds, ensuring they receive essential energy and vital body warmth during harsh winter months.
The composition includes energy-rich and nutritious components: oats, sunflower seeds, millet, wheat, peas, and small beans. To prevent respiratory irritation in birds and ensure food hygiene, all seeds undergo a thorough sorting and dust removal process. Soybean oil has been added to the prepared grain mix, significantly increasing its caloric value. Thanks to the oil and the raw material’s low moisture level, the product retains its freshness and crispness even during prolonged outdoor exposure.
Usage and Cultivation Instructions:
Feed birds from a weather-resistant tube feeder with a dispenser or a traditional covered birdhouse that keeps grains dry. A 4 kg bag is sufficient for an extended period with typical consumption; however, portions should be distributed more frequently and in smaller quantities to prevent the seeds from molding in humid air.
Tips and recommendations:
-
Life-Saving Consistency: Important! Commencing supplementary winter feeding for birds entails responsibility. Once feeding has begun, do not discontinue it before the arrival of spring and insects. A lack of food is life-threatening for accustomed birds.
-
Location Matters: Position the birdhouse in a quieter corner of the garden, near trees or bushes. This allows birds to quickly seek shelter if danger (such as cats or hawks) appears.
-
Monitor the Weather Forecast: During particularly cold weather or heavy snowfall, it is advisable to refill the birdhouse more frequently, as birds’ energy requirements are highest at these times.
