The Tubefix brown plant tie tube (40-meter roll) is a practical and safe solution for securing young fruit trees, ornamental saplings, and larger shrubs to support stakes. Unlike conventional tying cords or wires, this material is highly elastic, adapting smoothly to the natural thickening of the tree trunk.
Thanks to its innovative elasticity, the tube will not begin girdling the bark or obstruct the movement of nutrients and sap within the plant. As the material stretches along with the plant’s development, the gardener does not need to loosen or completely replace the tie every season. The brown color blends well visually with the tone of the bark, making the fastening inconspicuous and discreet in the garden. The tie tube is weather-resistant, maintaining its properties in both summer sun and winter freezing temperatures.
Usage and Cultivation Instructions:
-
Cut a piece of suitable length from the roll using scissors or a knife, leaving a sufficient margin for tying.
-
Form a “figure-eight” loop around the tree trunk and the support stake. This crossing arrangement prevents the tree from rubbing directly against the rough wooden post.
-
Secure the ends of the tube on the back of the support stake with a strong double knot.
-
Ensure that the fastening holds the tree stable but allows the crown to sway slightly in the wind – this movement is essential for developing a strong and vigorous root system.
Tips and recommendations:
-
When planting a young sapling, always install the support stake on the side of the prevailing winds (in Estonia, usually the west or southwest). This way, the wind pushes the tree against the tie rather than beating it against the post.
-
For tall or thin-trunked saplings, it is recommended to apply fastenings at two different heights (for example, one below the start of the crown and another at the mid-section of the trunk) to ensure stability.
-
Although the installed tube is highly weather-resistant, store the remaining roll in a dry place protected from direct sunlight to extend the material’s service life for future seasons.
