The white, flexible, and UV-protected tree guard net (set of 5 pieces, measuring 11 x 110 cm) is a practical solution for ensuring the safety of young fruit trees and ornamental plantings. The fine mesh (2 x 3 mm) creates an effective mechanical barrier that prevents rabbits, deer, and small rodents from damaging the tree bark.
In addition to winter protection, the net is an indispensable aid during the spring and summer seasons, preventing bark damage when working with a lawnmower or trimmer. Thanks to its breathable material, excessive moisture does not accumulate under the net, which prevents the development of fungal diseases and trunk rot. The white color reflects early spring sunlight, helping to reduce large temperature fluctuations and preventing dangerous cracking of the trunk bark during night frosts.
Usage and Cultivation Instructions:
-
Install the net around the tree trunk, starting tightly from the ground level, to prevent small rodents from gnawing the bark from below.
-
Ensure that the net extends at least to the first crown branches. If necessary, the plastic net can be cut to the appropriate size with scissors.
-
For thicker trunks, you may install several nets together or wrap them spirally to cover the entire protected area.
Tips and recommendations:
-
Install the protective nets in late autumn before the arrival of permanent snow cover, as wild animals, lacking food, attack young trees most during this time.
-
Press the lower edge of the net slightly into the soil to prevent mice from crawling between the protective cover and the trunk.
-
Leave the net around the trunk during summer for trimming protection, but check once a year to ensure that the flexible material does not excessively constrict the growing trunk.
