Universal Home Garden Grass Seed 10 kg is an economical and practical choice for establishing larger home gardens, playgrounds, and spacious green areas. This bulk package is sufficient for landscaping an area of up to 500 m², offering excellent value for money for large surfaces.
This seed mix contains specially selected fine-leaved grasses that form a dense, low-growing, and attractive turf upon emergence. The mixture is low-maintenance and adapts well to various light conditions in the garden—the green carpet grows vigorously both under open skies in direct sun and in the shade of trees and buildings. Thanks to its good wear resistance, the lawn withstands foot traffic well and recovers quickly from mechanical damage, making it ideal for daily use in a family garden.
Usage and Cultivation Instructions:
-
Sowing time: The most reliable time for sowing grass is early spring, late summer, or early autumn.
-
Application rate: 1 kg of seeds per 50 m² of soil.
-
Preparation and sowing: Clear the area of old sod and weeds and rake the soil surface level. To achieve an even result, divide the seed quantity in half and perform cross-sowing (sow half the quantity in one direction and the other half perpendicular to the first). After distributing the seeds, lightly compact the surface with a roller to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
-
Watering: Constant moisture is critical during the germination phase (approximately the first 3 weeks). Water the area regularly so the emerging seeds do not dry out.
-
Maintenance and mowing: Perform the first mowing only when the grass blades are 8–10 cm long. Thereafter, maintain the grass height at an average of 3.5 cm, mowing once a week.
Tips and recommendations:
-
To maximize plant winter hardiness and prevent frost damage, fertilize the lawn in August or September with a specialized autumn fertilizer (application rate 4 kg / 100 m²).
-
To stimulate intensive spring growth, use a spring lawn fertilizer. If you notice moss formation in shadier areas, choose a fertilizer with moss killer.
-
During dry and hot periods, water young grass preferably in the early morning or late evening, avoiding excessive water evaporation and the washing away of seeds by a strong water jet.
