Hydrotera hydrogel is a microcrystalline product designed for water storage in soil. The preparation is intended for:
-
houseplants – for growing at home, on balconies, and terraces;
-
outdoor plants – for growing in gardens and summer houses;
-
lawns.
Microcrystals absorb water and nutrients, forming a soft hydrogel. During drought periods, plants absorb the water contained in the hydrogel.
The preparation helps to utilize nutrients more effectively. The water absorption and release process of microcrystals can occur repeatedly throughout the entire growing season.
Note: Hydrogel can store water for 4 years, after which it biodegrades. After this time, for outdoor cultivation, the recommended doses should be repeated.
Usage
Houseplants:
Use 10 g of the preparation per 16 liters of substrate.
-
For plants that prefer less water, use a dose of 10 g per 34 liters of substrate.
-
For plants that require more water, use a dose of 10 g per 11 liters of substrate.
The higher recommended dose should also be used for porous substrates with high water permeability (sand, bark chips, gravel, expanded clay).
Mix the recommended amount of product with the corresponding amount of substrate, then fill pots or containers with the mixture. After planting, water the plant thoroughly.
Balcony Plants:
Use 10 g of the preparation per 12 liters of substrate.
Mix the recommended amount of product with the corresponding amount of substrate, then fill pots or containers with the mixture. After planting, water the plant thoroughly.
Field Crops, Greenhouse Crops, Flower Beds, Green Areas:
Before planting, add 8–10 g per 1 m² to the pre-prepared soil and mix it with the soil to a depth of 10–15 cm. Plant the plants in the prepared soil and then water thoroughly.
When growing perennial plants, apply in early spring at a dose of 8–10 g per 1 m², no more frequently than every 4 years. After application, mix with the topsoil layer and then water thoroughly.
Ornamental Trees and Shrubs:
Use hydrogel depending on the soil thickness (depth).
| Soil depth where hydrogel is used | Hydrogel dose per 1 m² | Hydrogel dose per 0.5 m² |
| 50 cm | 20–25* g | 10–12.5* g |
| 40 cm | 16–20* g | 8–10* g |
| 30 cm | 12–15* g | 6–7.5* g |
| 20 cm | 8–10* g | 4–5* g |
| 10 cm | 4–5* g | 2–2.5* g |
* The higher recommended dose should be used for soils with very good permeability and low water retention capacity (e.g., sandy soils).
Hydrogel can also be used during planting at a dose of 10 g per planting hole.
Sprinkle half of the hydrogel dose into the bottom of the prepared hole and mix lightly with the soil. Mix the remaining dose with the substrate intended to cover the root ball. After placing the plant in the hole, cover the roots with the hydrogel-mixed substrate and press firmly, then water.
Establishing a Lawn:
Use at a depth of 20–30 cm, at a rate of 4–5 g per 1 m².
Evenly sprinkle the measured amount of the preparation onto the soil prepared for lawn establishment. Then mix the preparation with the soil to a depth of 20–30 cm and level.
-
Sown lawn: Sow lawn seeds on the prepared soil, cover with a 1–2 cm layer of soil, and lightly roll.
-
Roll-out lawn: After mixing the hydrogel with the soil and leveling, place the turf rolls directly onto the prepared soil.
Regardless of the method of establishment, the newly laid lawn must be watered thoroughly.
