Textile mulch is a specially developed lightweight ground cover material for use in gardening and landscaping. This black-fibered polypropylene material is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and compounds found in soil. The fabric prevents weed growth and also accelerates the rooting of young plants by keeping the soil moist and warm. Textile mulch can also be used to separate different soil layers, for example, between drainage and substrate in a flower bed. In planting areas covered with textile mulch, the soil remains looser than in beds covered with weed barrier fabric or geotextile. The rough surface of the textile mulch hinders slugs and snails from moving among plants. Depending on the application, it lasts 5-6 years.
Instructions for Use
The fabric is laid on prepared soil, and planting holes are cut with a sharp knife. The edges are secured with either soil or special fastening pegs. In landscaping, the area around plants can be covered with bark chips or decorative gravel.
