Textile mulch is a specially developed lightweight surface covering material for use in gardening and landscaping. The black-fibered polypropylene material is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and compounds found in the soil. The fabric inhibits weed growth and also accelerates the rooting of young plants by keeping the soil moist and warm. Textile mulch can also be used to separate different soil layers, for example, between drainage and substrate in a flower bed. In a planting area covered with textile mulch, the soil remains looser than in a bed covered with weed barrier fabric or geotextile. The rough surface of the textile mulch hinders the activity of slugs and snails between plants. Depending on the place of use, it lasts 5-6 years.
Manual
The fabric is spread on the prepared soil and cut planting holes with a sharp knife, the edges are fastened either with soil or with special mounting stands. In landscaping, the area around the plants can be covered with bark crumbs or decorative chips.
