Save your conifers from browning and boost your garden after winter!
Have your arborvitae, junipers, or spruces lost their vibrant green complexion and are the needles turning brown? This is often caused by magnesium deficiency or winter damage due to harsh weather conditions.
Our fast-acting magnesium sulfate (also known as Epsom salt) is a specialized first-aid fertilizer that helps prevent and treat magnesium deficiency. Although the product is vital for conifers, it is also an indispensable aid for boosting deciduous trees, shrubs, and even greenhouse plants.
Why choose magnesium sulfate?
-
Fast effect: Helps plants recover quickly from stress and winter damage.
-
Universal: Suitable for use in ornamental gardens, vegetable gardens, and greenhouses.
-
Eliminates deficiencies: Effectively prevents and treats the browning/yellowing of needles and leaves.
How to use magnesium sulfate correctly? Since the product can be used in several ways, choose the method that suits you best. One kilogram (1 kg) is sufficient to treat an area of approximately 100 m².
1. Mixing into the soil (long-term effect)
-
Treatment of winter damage (from early spring to the end of June): Scatter 100–150 g/m² of fertilizer around trees and shrubs and mix lightly into the soil.
-
Planting new trees: Mix 75 g of fertilizer into 100 liters of planting soil. This gives the young plant a strong start.
2. Spraying (fastest solution for first aid)
-
Dosage: Dissolve 20 g (approximately 2 heaping teaspoons) of magnesium sulfate in 10 liters of water.
-
Application: Spray damaged plants from early spring to the end of June once a week until the browning symptoms have disappeared. Spraying ensures the fastest absorption of nutrients directly through the needles and leaves!
3. Adding with irrigation water
-
Ornamental and vegetable garden (outdoors): Dissolve 10–20 g of fertilizer in 10 liters of water (0.1–0.2% solution) and water the plants.
-
In the greenhouse: To boost plants during the growing season, dissolve 5–10 g of fertilizer in 10 liters of water (0.05–0.1% solution).
