‘Blue Palace’ introduces an intense deep blue hue to your garden and terrace. This annual plant, growing to a height of 10–15 centimeters, forms a dense, low cushion covered with abundant small blossoms from early summer until the first autumn frosts. Its compact growth makes it a suitable choice for rock gardens, flowerbed borders, and various garden containers. As the plant prefers a shaded or semi-shaded growing location protected from direct sunlight, it is well-suited for the north-facing sides of buildings. To facilitate sowing, the seeds are marketed as multi-seed pellets. Each pellet produces a group of 5–7 plants, eliminating the need for individual potting and immediately providing a lush result.
Usage and Cultivation Instructions:
-
Sowing Time: Indoor pre-cultivation of seeds occurs in February–March.
-
Sowing Technique: Pellets are placed directly on the surface of leveled sowing soil. Covering with soil is strictly prohibited, as the plant is a light-germinator.
-
Planting and Spacing: Plants are moved outdoors only when the weather is consistently warm (typically early June). Allow approximately 10–15 cm of free space between plants.
-
Care: The plant requires regular watering and routine supplementary fertilization.
Tips and Recommendations:
-
To help the pellet dissolve more easily and the seeds germinate, use a fine-mist sprayer (spray bottle) to moisten the soil after sowing, rather than a strong watering can stream, which can wash away the seeds.
-
On hot and windy summer days, carefully monitor the moisture level of plants growing in small pots or hanging baskets, as the thin layer of soil dries out very quickly.
