‘Solario’ F1 is a disease-resistant and high-yielding sweet pepper hybrid variety originating from France. This variety produces large red fruits weighing up to 250 grams, distinguished by their robust and thick-walled structure. The thick flesh ensures a pleasant crunch, exceptional juiciness, and a rich sweet flavor.
Due to its high-quality fruit, ‘Solario’ F1 is a highly versatile choice – these peppers are excellent for fresh salads, thermal processing, grilling, and canning. The variety’s bred-in disease resistance makes cultivation stress-free, supporting a consistent and healthy harvest throughout the season. One package contains 6 seeds.
Usage and Cultivation Instructions:
-
Sowing time and pre-cultivation: Since peppers require a long growing season, sow seeds indoors from February to April.
-
Sowing depth: Sow seeds 0.5–1 cm deep in moist seed-starting soil.
-
Location and planting: Peppers prefer a warm location sheltered from the wind. In a heated greenhouse, young plants can be planted in April or May. In an unheated greenhouse or warm open garden bed, plant only after the danger of night frost has completely passed (late May or early June).
-
Planting scheme: Maintain a distance of 30 cm between plants in a row and 70 cm between rows to ensure sufficient light and air circulation.
-
Harvesting: Fruits ripen gradually from July to September.
Tips and recommendations:
-
Pepper seed germination is slow and requires consistent heat (optimal soil temperature is 25–28 °C). To accelerate emergence, keep the seed trays warm and cover them with plastic or glass to retain moisture.
-
The pepper root system is sensitive to transplanting. During pre-cultivation, it is recommended to prick out young plants into separate pots as early as possible or sow seeds directly into small peat pots to avoid root damage during later planting.
-
Water pepper plants regularly, preferably in the morning with room-temperature water. Cold water can cause temperature shock to the plant and slow its growth.
