This 1 kg package of calcium ammonium nitrate is indispensable first aid when plant growth has stalled in the greenhouse or on the balcony and lower leaves are turning yellow. It is a potent source of nitrogen and calcium. Nitrogen (N) is responsible for the active growth of green leaf mass, while calcium prevents blossom end rot and leaf tip burn, which are common in tomatoes and cucumbers.

This highly water-soluble mineral fertilizer acts quickly—plants absorb nutrients immediately after watering. Additionally, the lime in the product helps reduce the soil acidity of peat-based soils in pots and boxes. This is the ideal quantity for the hobby gardener, sufficient to boost a smaller greenhouse for the entire season.

Instructions for use and cultivation: The fastest effect is achieved by dissolving the fertilizer.

  • As a liquid fertilizer: For young seedlings, add 2 teaspoons per 10 liters of water; for large plants, add 2 tablespoons. Water cucumbers and tomatoes every 4–10 days (application rate 3–6 liters per m²).

  • Dry fertilization: Sprinkle granules onto the soil and water in. For sensitive crops (lettuce, flowers, radishes) 30 g/m², for hardier crops (cucumber and tomato) 40 g/m².

Tips and recommendations:

  • Fertilize plants in the early morning or evening to avoid sunburn on wet foliage.

  • Stop applying this nitrogen-rich fertilizer in the second half of summer (mid-July); otherwise, perennial crops will not have time to lignify and prepare for winter.
