Textile mulch is a specially developed lightweight ground cover material for use in gardening and landscaping. The black-fiber polypropylene material is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and compounds found in the soil. The fabric prevents weed growth and accelerates the rooting of young plants by keeping the soil moist and warm. Textile mulch can also be used to separate different soil layers, such as between drainage and substrate in a flowerbed. In planting areas covered with textile mulch, the soil remains fluffier than in beds covered with weed barrier fabric or geotextile. The rough surface of the textile mulch discourages snails and slugs from moving between plants. Depending on the application site, it lasts for 5–6 years.
Instructions for use
Spread the fabric on prepared soil and cut planting holes with a sharp knife; secure the edges with either soil or special fixing pegs. In landscaping, the area around the plants can be covered with bark mulch or decorative gravel.
