Bring country romance to your backyard
Tired of weekly mowing and boring green patches? Wildflower Meadow (1 kg) is the ideal solution for the eco-friendly garden owner. It is a carefully selected seed mix that combines durable grasses with beautifully blooming meadow flowers, creating a species-rich ecosystem in your garden.
This mix is not just a lawn – it is a habitat. Blooming plants provide food for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies, helping to preserve the biodiversity of your home garden.
Why replace a standard lawn with a wildflower meadow?
-
Less effort: Wildflower meadows do not require constant mowing. It is sufficient to mow the area high a few times per season (usually after flowering), giving you more time to enjoy the summer.
-
Colorful display: Instead of looking at a uniform green carpet, you will enjoy a constantly changing play of colors from spring to autumn.
-
Durability: Natural flowers and herbs are often more drought-resistant than cultivated lawns, staying green even on hot summer days.
Sowing and maintenance
Establishing a wildflower meadow is simple but differs slightly from a standard lawn. The 1 kg package is sufficient to cover a medium-sized area or to “patch” an existing lawn to make it more natural.
-
Preparation: Clear the soil of weeds. Wildflower meadows prefer leaner soil – do not over-fertilize with nitrogen, otherwise the grasses will outgrow the flowers!
-
Sowing: Mix the seeds with sand for a more even application. Lightly rake the seeds into the soil (not deep).
-
Watering: Keep the soil moist until you see the first sprouts.
-
Mowing: Perform the first mow high (approx. 10 cm) once the plants have rooted. Later, mow infrequently, allowing the flowers to ripen their seeds.
